Monday Blues
Posted by Charles Wade on
It's Monday and the alarm goes off way too early and it's time for your feet to hit the floor and get ready for the day. You had a fun filled weekend, of what you can remember, and before you know it; it's Monday again and time to head back to work. You push yourself out the door and make an urgent stop at your local Starbucks for the first of many caffeine filled concoctions that will do its best to uplift your spirits and fuel you with energy.
Are you with me so far?
Ugh, the Monday Blues!
For me, it's usually a morning filled with rushing to get out the door so I am not late for my meetings and battling a long commute while taking conference calls during the drive. Monday's tend to be a little more stressful than other days because I am thinking about the many tasks I have to get done and where I left off before the weekend.
Why do Monday's have to be so stressful? Is it because it's the start of another long work week and if so, why not call Tuesday "Terrible Tuesday" or Wednesdays "Wicked Wednesday"? The point is, every day can have an ominous nick name and a certain level of stress, but it's how we approach each day that matters. The day of the week should not define your mood or how you feel about yourself. Someone once told me that everyday is a great day and if you don't think so...try missing one.
The Monday blues? I don't think so, we've got this! After all, it is what it is
